The News - Latest

2011-10cheque-presentation1Cr Des Hudson, Paul Ryle, Cr John Phillips, Andrea Mason and Mayor Cr Craig FletcherFriends of Royal Park received $5,000 towards heating and hot water installation and were among thirty two community organisations and not for profit groups to share in funding thanks to the City of Ballarat's Community Impact Grants Program.

As the number of user groups and volunteers grows, so does our need to consider the ongoing comfort of the management committee, meeting participants, workshop participants, community members and other users as they provide ongoing management of the facilities, support the members of the sporting and gardening groups and undertake community engagement activities.

Currently the building has no heating or hot water and our capacity to use and attract users during the colder months is greatly reduced. Demonstrating sustainable choices is key to our aims and the choice of gas heating and instantaneous hot water is an important part of that.

If you're thinking about planting - think about using Greensmart Pots and fill them with Grow Better Organic Potting Mix!

Funds raised will help us continue to maintain and improve our facilities.

See us at the Ballarat Fresh Produce Market, Bridge Mall, 1st Saturday of the month, order online or phone Vicki, 0458 903 043.

If you want something bigger, why not rent a plot in the Buninyong Community Garden.
